Screen turns off, fan speeds up

Yesterday I played a game, counter strike I belive and suddenly my monitor lost signal and fan started working really fast (making loud noise). I have no idea why did this happen, I've never seen anything like that, but I had a problem with random restarts, I don't know if these two are connected. I don't think it's heat problem because I never experienced anything like that and it's not really hot here, nothing that would make a change. Recently I tried to play csgo again and i could play it for about 10-20 minutes before this 'error' happened again and i had to to hard restart. I could still hear game sounds in the background. It happens while playing other games too (except chess on web browser). I would appriciate help, I'm lost.

I asked because this happens on our laptop when a program takes up too much memory. Try opening Task Manager to see how much it uses.

Maybe the question I should ask first is-- is your random restart problem actually random, or does it happen while you're running a program?
