The title explains it all really. My monitor just went black when i hit apply. I tried changing it back to 60Hz and it really did nothing. What should i do. Please help. Thanks! :)

Depends on the game you are going to play but your GTX 760 is capable of 144Hz. Monitor too, so you have to use a DisplayPort cable to transfer the 144Hz refresh rate. Should work, most newer monitors have a DisplayPort cable in the box ;)

If your monitor does not support higher refresh rates like 144Hz you should not force the monitor to do this without expecting him to turn black because he's unable to display your content at such a high refresh rate. Check its specs and go to the maximum it supports without having black screens.

Good questions! The HDMI thing is important. DisplayPort will support higher refresh rates though.

I have a ASUS vg248qe. And yes it does support 144Hz. Sorry. I didn't know what to include in my question. And I am plugging the cable in my DVI port in my monitor. And plugging my cable into my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760. Not sure if that answers your question. Sorry if it doesn't :(.

That is dual link DVI right?
You should try setting it at 120Hz or abit lower.
