I was browsing the internet when something very strange happened... and I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.

I was reading a webpage and suddenly my monitor went black, music was still playing, and after a few seconds the monitor showed the webpage/Windows again. This is the part that I'm worried about, hinting at the video card, my monitor didn't lose its signal - the monitor just went black and came back on.

This is the first time I've had this happen (to the best of my recollection).

Sorry for the extremely late reply, I kind of... forgot about this thread.

So I cleaned my desk area today, and in doing so I unplugged my computer and when I cleaned everything and plugged everything back in I found that my screen was constantly flittering from a black screen to the desktop and so on... I have had it happen very infrequently in the past (hence this thread... which I forgot about for some reason) about 2 times, maybe 3 but this time as I said, it was constant. I unplugged HDMI and have I am using the DVI-D connection and it seems to be working just fine - no flittering of any kind so far.

I will be honest, I have another HDMI cable handy for testing but I am scared to figure out if it's the connector on my video card or the other HDMI cable I was using - obviously if it's the cable that saves me a lot of headaches.

Also,

I'm not sure whether to make a new thread over this, but I find when I'm using Firefox (as it's my default browser) that Tom's Hardware doesn't work properly. When I click inside a "Your Answer" text box, the text box just disappears without a trace - I am running the current and latest Firefox as well. This issue has been happening lately and it didn't before. Weird, but curious why.

I am currently on Microsoft Edge to reply, as I was with my reply above.
