Question Screentearing

When I play Minecraft, I get a solid 150-200 fps and for some reason the screen keeps tearing which is making my fps go to 0 very often, making the game unplayable. When I put it on vsync it doesn't solve anything either.
CPU: Intel Core i5 4210U 2.40 ghz
Graphics Card: Nvidia 840a
8 gb ram
