I accidentally dropped a little screw inside my monitor and won't be able to get it out unless i open up the cover of it. Is it still safe to run my monitor even with the screw inside? Been using for ~4 days and it seems fine (nothing wrong the display etc..). I have noticed a "burning" smell but not sure if it's coming from my monitor (it usually doesn't overheat/get that hot). Are there any implications of the screw being inside my monitor?

Solution
What kind of monitor? It would have shorted by now if it was in a location to do so. Until you move it is probably fine.

Depending upon the monitor, you should be able to power it down (and unplug it) and take the back cover off. Then turn it over and give it a little shake. The screw should drop out.

Dont think I can shake it back out, the hole is pretty small about 3x4cm (i've tried, but just gets caught in the wires I assume). I guess I can continue to use it if it doesnt cause issues correct?
