Hello All,

I am FINALLY starting my build and I think this is a simple question, but I wanted to make sure before I install the passive cooler.
Motherboard - ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero
Storage - Samsung 980 Pro SSD with Heatsink

Can someone please help? I would have shared a pic, but I don't see that option here.
Looking at the M.2 SSD screwed into the mobo slot...
1. The left screw is recessed down to bottom of the SSD. I have seen some pics where the screw is actually level with the top of the M.2. Does it make a difference? I'm perplexed.
2. Is the right screw hole supposed to be empty?

Thanks all,

Sure! I was told it was ok to simply screw down the left side of the SSD so the screw is level with the bottom of the SSD. I was told I "could" put a standoff first and then the screw on top of that (to make the screw level with the top of the SSD), but that would be overkill and really unnecessary.

As for the empty screw hole on the right side after removing that motherboard plate for the SSD, I was told to just leave it empty. No need to put a screw in there.
