Question Scroll wheel getting rougher to spin at a point

Okay simple question, my scroll wheel got slightly rougher to spin at a point, and I fear opening it will damage the mouse. So what could be the cause of this and a quick solution?

I'm using a Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB that I've had for slightly longer than a month

Soak the entire mouse(not eh cables in isopropyl alcohol...? You didn't add much information about the scroll wheel. I have a mouse that had dirt and grime from my finger that accumulated over time. I simply took the time to disconnect the mouse from the system(which was powered down) and took a Q-tip and some isopropyl alcohol to clean the entire wheel, rolling it one step at a time and cleaning the grime off each notch(without tearing down the mouse). If you can see dirt physically clogging the mouse's wheel's ends then it's a good idea to see if the dirt can be dislodged(which is why I suggested soaking in isopropyl alcohol to soften the dirt/grime)
