Good reviews are scarce over the internet. But what do you guys think about the Mugen Max and the Ninja 4? I've been thinking of getting one of the two with two fans on opposite sides. I'll just sacrifice my stock cooler in a fiery incantation based heathen way like it deserves.

So far the Mugen Max seems to have the larger fans, but the Ninja 4 is overall larger and heavier, thus cooling better (on paper). What do you guys say? Any first hand experience with these?

Scythe coolers have always been very good for the price. I'm using a Mugen 2 Rev B with my current 2600K setup. The Mugen series is generally their highest end cooler and it performs better than the other lines.

I found myself in the same dilemma, And now i'm using Mugen Max. I use a FX6 6350 Black edition on Aus M5A99fx pro rev 2.0, my decision was based mainly on 3 facts: 1 - i like to have more space in my case
2 - lower noise means something to me . Mugen Max has a larger fan so it is quiter, and considering that has a 140w TDP over the ninja 4-s 120 TDP means the Mugen Max fan is cooling better. It might be the Ninja 4-s heatsink is more efficient, but i dont have information about this.
3 - on my MOBO the memory slots are pretty close to the CPU socket, and because the Mugen Max has an inclination toward the backpanel it gives space to insert all my memory moduls and still remains some milimeters between the first module and the cooling fan
If i would have go with the ninja 4 i'm not sure i could use my first memory slot.
At a 29 C degree room temperature and the CPU overclocked from 3.9 ghz to aprox 4.27ghz keeps the CPU at average 55 C degree in hours of continuose gaming. When i quite the game the tempreture drops very quickly.
I am happy to have my cooler, and i recommend it.
