Question Scythe ninja 5 exhaust space question

Hello, I am looking to get a air cooler for my r5 3600 and the ninja 5 seems really appealing for the price. In all the builds with the cooler installed I've seen the cooler exhaust end very close on average about 1-2 inches away from their rear case fan. Is that normal for large air coolers to be so close? Does this mess with cooling at all? Thanks!

I am running vengeance ddr4 lpx. They look like they are small enough. Is there some type of low profile ram I'm missing?
