SD Card Error Message on Camcorder

I am trying to use a SD Card in my JVC camcorder and am getting a message that states "CARD ERROR!". It's a brand new card.

What's the model number of your camcorder?

Does the camcorder have a limit on the size of the card?

Does the camcorder require that the card be preformatted?

Is your card formatted with a file system that the camcorder doesn't like? If so, then use FAT32 or FAT16.

Is the card write protected?
