SD card not showing pictures taken on new DSLR camera

I have previously used a point and shoot camera but have a new DSLR camera. I used my old SD card in my new camera and while i can see all the pictures when my SD card is in the camera, none of the new pictures DSLR pictures are showing up on my computer.

If the memory card is SDHC, whatever youre using on the computer. Does it support SDHC?

When you first put that SD card in the new camera, did you format it?

You really need to.
I'm thinking any new pics you've taken with the DSLR have been saved to the camera internal memory and not the card.
Because the card is not formatted for that cameras requirements.

No DSLR made recently has internal memory that I know of, also the camera will quickly format a new card, placing some folders when it does. Kimberly, is it possible you were shooting in RAW format? If so the pictures will not show in the windows photo viewer. Assuming windows...Mac has native RAW support.

(edit: On and old card the camera will place new folders but should not delete what was there)
