Question SD Card reader only sometimes detected

Hi, i built a PC with an SD card reader but i am encountering a weird problem.

About half the time when i turn on the PC the card reader works fine,
And the other half it comes up as Unknown Device.
If it's not working i can restart the computer until it does.
I am running Windows 10

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Which version of Windows 10 are you working with? Might want to include a link to the card reader in case you're not using the right drivers for the device. Speaking of which, did you source drivers manually or did you use Windows' automatic driver finder?

Might also want to see if you have any BIOS updates pending for your motherboard.
