SD card vs Flash drive vs Compact Flash

I need help choosing a storage device for backups. I would like to label them as well whether it be on the device itself of case. Backups would consist of documents so I do not imagine I need anything large. I would prefer long life span and possibly many rewrites. What do you guys recommend?

Those are not long term safe storage mechanisms.

Either an actual hard drive, or cloud storage, or both.
Of course...details might lead to a true solution.
