Hi,
Weird this.

I have 3 SD cards all of which work OK in my HP DV6 SD reader

When I try them in my HP Elitebook PC SD card reader, two of them (SanDisk and Integral) will not stay pressed in. If I hold them in, the PC will read them happily but if I let go, they just pop out.

The 3rd card (Elite Pro) works just fine and does not need to be held in.

Ive tried then in a 3rd PC and all work (stay inserted) so there is clearly something slightly out in the SD reader of the Elitebook but I dont want to take that apart so I guess I shoud be able to change the SD cards slightly. But I cant see any obvious physical differences between the cards but I guess there must be. Any clues as to where I start looking?

Hey there, Rincewindwiz.

It sounds like there might be something wrong with the card reader's pop-up/holding mechanism. Having in mind the SD cards are different brands and work with other readers, it all points to this. You could take your laptop to a service shop for someone to check this out. If it's under warranty, you could try sending it back to see if they fix it or replace the card reader. Or you could get an external one.

Hope that helps.
