Sd card wont format

Hello,
i recently bought an 4gb sandisk ultra sd card for my camera, I have been trying to use it ever since but i cant. it say i must format the card first but it doesn't format.. when i format the card using a computer it does format. what seems to be the problem with this card...?

Do you have an older camera? It may only support SD cards which are all 2gb or smaller. Anything 4gb or larger is an SDHC card.

Older cameras do not support HD versions. You need to buy a SD card without HD logo and with 2GB as maximum size. If you go to your camera official website, try to find a firmware for adding SD card version HD support.
