What is the difference between SD RAM and regular RAM? I want to upgrade my RAM and there is SD RAM as well as regular RAM. Which do I buy or are they the same? :??: Thanks!

Just tell us what MOTHERBOARD you have. You can also look up the manual at the motherboard support site or read the details on the main page.

The manual also tells you the optimal install method.

A normal, modern ATX motherboard usually uses DDR3 memory in pairs for maximum performance such as a 2x4GB 1600MHz C9 kit.

(DDR4 is new, and DDR2 is pretty old)

Motherboards are also limited in how large the capacity is per slot. My Z77 build for example can handle a max of 4GB per slot for a total of 16GB.
