I had a virus which was memory resident. I removed this dimm completely and I was wondering if the virus could still be stored on the dimm if I reinstalled it into a different computer. It is standard SDRAM PC133Mhz.

Thanks

I will give you credit, without knowing, your thought process is verry logical.

When antivirus companies refer to a virus as "memory resident", this means that the virus is imedately loaded into memory. once the computer is turned off, the memory is completely cleared.
The Memory module does not actually have the virus hard coded into it.
You will be fine moveing the DIMM to anothe PC.

Best way to get rid of the virus is to use an antivirus boot disk that will disinfect the virus at startup.

As Dan said, even if you just turn the computer off, the virus is cleared from MEMORY. Your memory won't get damaged from the virus.
