seagate 2tb hdd problem

hello,

i have seagate 2tb hdd and tried installing windows to it. the hardware gets detected in bios, i have been trying to load windows 7 to it but stops midway .." window is loading" gets pass and then select language screen post up , after the click next , it gets stuck at "setup is starting" and doesnt move a inch from there .. i have check the USB drive to check if OS was the problem on my laptop , but it was fine USB wasnt the problem.

can u help me out if i m doing something wrong or is the hardware faulty

Hi there momo eric,

Well, unfortunately, there could be something wrong with the drive.

My suggestion would be to run some brand specific testing tool for DOS mode.
Alternatively, you can attach the drive as a secondary one, to another system and run some OS based testing tool, that can provide a SMART report.

Changing cables and ports may be a good idea as well.

called up the seagate customer care and enquired about it and they said they will replace the hdd . thanks for the reply
