I bought a brand new portable drive from seagate and it does not appear to be working properly. The light is blue but not blinking. Also it makes a buzzing/beeping sound every 2 seconds. It also shows up on device manager, but when I try to populate, it says volume information cannot be found. Also it does not show up in disk manager. I have tried this on 2 other computers but still not working.

Any solutions?

The LED being on but not blinking is normal, and the buzzing/beeping sound may be normal.

If the drive is recognizable in device manager, but no volumes populate and no drive letter is assigned, the drive may just need to be formatted. When you go to "Create and format hard disk partitions" in control panel, what does the drive look like?

The SeaTool does not detect the external drive (no assigned Drive Letter), so I cannot even run it.

Contact Seagate and see what they say.
Brand new = warranty = replacement.

Or, it's not connected properly.

i dont have any other usb micro b cables so another cable wouldn't be an option. I dont think the usb is the issue either. I have already contacted amazon for a replacement.

"I don't think..." doesn't count until that can be verified as not the issue.
It might be the cable or port.
