Seagate 4TB HDD won't show up on "My computer".

It does show up in the "disk management" section, although, it shows that it's completely free, which it isn't. Have checked driver updates etc and is apparently all ok. Running Win 8.1 if it makes any difference.

if the hard drive is new, remember you have to format the drive and set it to GPT if you are in windows 7, so you can use the whole 4TB as 1 drive.

Not sure on that one, I'm using an Acer V3-177G laptop if that helps at all

shows up under disk management but it can only tell there is a drive there not the fact it has stuff on it. I'm not real computer literate, so unsure about BIOS, how would I check?

Doesn't show in BIOS, and this is how it appears in Disk Management.

What you need is to assign a drive letter.In disk management, Right click on that partition.(Not the disk) --> Change Drive letter and path. --> Click add --> Select a drive letter --> OK.

I had tried that the other day also but all I get is this...(no options)

thats weird. I will suggest hooking that drive to another computer and try to format and see what happens.

I would examine the drive with a disc editor, eg DMDE (freeware).
