Seagate 500 portable drive

HELP!!!,,, I have an older Seagate 500 gb drive that I save a few folders on a couple of yrs ago.
I guess I saved them to be read only etc. So now I can't delete the old folders and files or save anything else to the drive... and I'm not even using a gb,,,,, duhhhhhh need to disable the read only and make drive accessible... I have an Imac and am sure I used this computer when I saved these files.... THANKS for the help!!!! 🙂

Thanks so much for Your response!!,,,, That worked great!,, I erased all of the old stuff and everything is working fine now.... Also helped me understand a lot more about external drives and formatting!,,,
