Seagate 7200.10 strange sound

Hello everyone,

I hope you can help me with this. I have an old HDD (Seagate Barracuda 7200.10) from which I want to recover the data. When I connect it, it makes an strange sound (please see links below) and nothing happens, the pc does not recognize that it is plugged in.

Could you give me any tip? Is the hdd broken?

I listened to your video clips. The drive sounds quite broken. If the data is essential you will need a data recovery service, but they are expensive. At any rate, you will need a new hard drive.

Hi there Asanzg,

The drive sounds bad. Have you tried attaching it with different cables to a different port? If not, you can try that.
If the issue persists though, and the data on it is important, you will need to contact a data recovery company.
