Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM 64MB Not Recognized

I have recently built a new computer (specifications below). However I have a very annoying problem with the hard drive. The hard drive is not always recognized by the computer so all I can do is try to keep rebooting until it is. I already have the OS on it. I have only had this computer for 3 days and it has been having this issue from the first day.

Things I have tried so far:
- Unplugging other boot devices (USB drives and DVD Drive)
- Switching SATA Cables
- Setting SATA Controller to Enhanced and Compatible
- Formatted
- Updating to latest motherboard BIOS

All help will be appreciated. I have looked for solutions online and could not find any. I will send this same message to Seagate to see if they can help however I hear there service is not very good right now...

Initially i had the same issue. The drive did however show under Devic Manager as a SCSI drive for some reason. I used the Seagate diskwizard software, and installed drivers and made the drive useable and detectable under all conditions in Windows 7 64 bit. I installed Seagate DiscWizard. What do I do now? There are 4 options: Image Backup and Image Restore, Create Bootable Media, Disc Utilities and Manage Image Backups.

I use as data drive, i just created a partion for storage.

Sometimes the hard drive is recognized and therefore it loads up. Sometimes it isn't.

It seems that installing Seagate Discwizard has solved my problem however I am not a 100% sure. I guess this thread can be closed now. Thanks for the help Deedot78.

Installing the software pretty much fixed it for me however the problem still occurs ocassionally. Do you have SLI running? If you do, adjust the SLI bridge. That has helped me sometimes... It's weird.

tnx for help, but I resolved this, activating the AHCI mode in the bios but first changing the registry for more help google search: how to enable AHCI mode in windows 7.
