Hi,
I tried to add a new drive to my system but when I try to format it it says it is write protected. It shows in computer management as a Healthy Primary Partition. I've never encountered a write protected drive before, how do I remove the write protection?
Thanks,
Gerald

Is this a used drive? It shouldn't be write protected if its brand new.

Open an admin level command prompt.
enter dispkart
enter list disk this will give you a list of your drives, find the number of the 3tb with the issue
enter
select disk x where x is the number from the listdisk
enter
attributes disk clear readonly
restart your pc
