Question Seagate Barracuda with dock?

I have an old SEAGATE Baracuda external hard drive with a loose/faulty connection. I'm not sure if it is the cable or the port, but I can only connect it for a few minues at a time. I bought an external hard drive dock, but I can't access the drive without reformatting. Could any kind soul here help me out?

The model number for the External drive (with enclosure) is SRD00F2. The drive on it's own is ST2000DM001.

The Dock is a Dynamode 2.5" / 3.5" Sata HDD USB 3.0 Docking station.

Can you show us a SMART report with a tool such as CrystalDiskInfo or GSmartControl? Look for reallocated, pending or uncorrectable sectors.

Can you show us the Partitions tabe in DMDE?

The Command Timeout attribute is reporting 14 occasions when the drive failed to complete a read or write request within 7 seconds. There are 12 seek errors, but otherwise the drive is OK.

DMDE has found one small, damaged partition, but no file system.
