seagate drive portable

it seems to corrupted . it was connected during a windows os installation now it doesnt showup in my computer .bt its lights up briefly .it is shown in device manager for a few mins later on light diess n it unconnects

I'd suggest you attempt to connect the external HDD with a different USB cable and a different USB port on your computer. If you have access to another PC/laptop, try to access the external drive from there as well. If you manage to get it detected long enough, you should definitely run the HDD manufacturer's brand-specific diagnostic tool and determine the health and SMART status.
If it does get recognized properly on the other system, you might want to check for USB Hub Controller driver updates on your motherboard/PC manufacturer's official website.

Unfortunately, if nothing worked, most likely the external HDD has failed! I'd advise you to check the warranty on the drive on the manufacturer's official website. If it's still covered, you might be able to RMA it and get a replacement product from their customer support. Make sure you get in touch with them, though. They might also refer you some data recovery company that would assist you in retrieving any important files from the external drive.
