I purchased the above before I realised they did a 4TB game drive with no power cable. Do I connect mine directly to the XBox One and a power supply or ignore the power supply?

No, you've got to use the supplied power supply adapter with the Expansion drive regardless of what PC or games console you're using it on. If you don't, the drive won't get any power and therefore won't be detected.

That drive model is not designed to run on power from a USB port.
