Some modern Seagate externals have drives with nothing to spin. Could yours be a solid state drive?.

Life is good, I removed the HD from the case and it's interface and installed and connected it to my decktop interface, it still works. Yup who says decktops or out of the picture I'd have a ruff time if I was dealing with a laptop. Thanks
