Hi Guys - I hope someone can help me ...
I have been researching and reading all the solutions available but nothing is working.
I was copying datda from my camera media card onto my HD when all the data on my HD dissappered and the drive is now been recognised as F
I have tried the following solutions but nothing restores the data: (Windows 8)
1. Changed the file path in disk management
2. Added a new faile path in disk management
3. Used seagate trial version data recovery software - This picks up two drives for scan 1. Seagate HD 2. F Drive (Which is on the Seagate HD)
The scan shows 11 hours to complete so I had stopped in 10 mins into scan to see what data it has picked up - it then makes my laptopn screen go black - I have to restart my machine and rerun the scan which once again makes my laptop screen black when stoppped.
4. I have plugged my HD to another computer (Windows 7) and still nothing.

Please help !!!

Let the scan run all the way through, 11 hours is not bad to do a deep discovery of files. I've seen cases where a recovery software took a week to go through a disk. The hard drive could be bad, run Seatools to test it, will tell you if it has issues, which would cause what you are seeing.
