[SOLVED] Seagate external harddrive not working

I have a 4t Seagate HD about 1 1/2 years old. There is no power, can’t hear it powering up. Took it out of the case and bought a HD reader. I can see it in my computer now but there is no data there and is asking to be formatted. Where is my data ?? I heard having someone recover the data is very expensive. It’s my sons xbox progress saved. Help!!!

Xbox uses different drive formatting that PCs, so it's "Normal" for PC not to recognize it. But if that "HD reader" you bought is USB as well, have you tried connecting it to the Xbox with the drive attached to it?
