Hello everyone!

So i have a seagate 2tb external storage (SRD00F2) it uses usb 3.0 and the problem i'm having is that this sucker when hit by 1gb or bigger file transfer the LED starts flashing for ~5-10 seconds and transfer is stopped during this flashing after some time it resumes what it did. Now i could just live with that but when i transfer 20 or more GB the flashing occur more and more frequent so the time to get the job done extends 100-150% of normal transfer time. Is there any solution to this?

Thanks, WhyFy

Hey there, WhyFy78.

This sounds a bit unusual. And just as with any other type of unusual HDD behavior, I'd recommend that you backup any important data which you might have on that drive, just in case.
Did this started to happen recently or did the drive always had this issue? I'd suggest that you try the HDD with a different computer and a different USB cable, to see if the same thing happens. Also, if I were you, I'd download the manufacturer's diagnostic tool and test the drive with it, to see if any errors or bad sectors pop-up.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.
