Seagate goflex freeagent 1.5tb external hdd not recognized by my computer

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk 1.5 TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive STAC1500100 is not being recognized my my computer. I tried installing seagate dashboard. Im trying to get it working with my lenovo yoga 2 pro running windows 8.1. I know the drive is working because it works with my macbook pro without a problem. only problematic with my yoga 2 pro. please help.

Was the drive formatted using a Mac? If yes, it could be a difference in the file systems. You could move data from the drive to the Mac and then format the drive using exFAT. Using exFAT will make the drive compatible with a Mac and PC.

Thank you for replying. It was working with the mac right out of the box. And it said it works with both operating systems simultaneously.

Does the drive show up in Device Manager on the PC? If yes, what is the status of the drive? If you go into Disk Utilities on the Mac and look at the disk what do you see the drive formatted as?

yes it shows up under device manager as it should. I dont know at the moment what it is formatted as because i have to reinstall osx on my mac. When i install it i will let you know.
