Hard Drive crash for an external seagate piece of [censored]. We have lost tons of photos and videos. Sent to two places and they claim they can't help. Rotational scoring on the area where the drive reads the data. Is there any experts out there who are up for a challenge and think they can fix this. I am willing to pay whatever it takes to get this data back. I have tried Drive Savers and Gillware with no luck.

Solution
Damn, that's nasty.

Given one of the main points of backups is in case the data gets deleted/overwritten/cryptolockered. Drive failures aren't everything (though they obviously are in this case.
You relied on a single hard drive to store precious files - - none of it backed up?
That's asking for trouble - - and you got it in spades.

Don't mind admitting though - - I've been there when I didn't know any better.
All my stuff is backed up in triplicate now. Hope you'll take that on board in the future.

Sounds like you are out of luck. Physical damage on the platters is not fixable.
Given that 2 different data recovery sources have said no...there isn't a lot more you can do.

We did have our data backed up with Carbonite and they claim they lost sight of the drive... prob because it was failing but we had no idea. Of couse, when we needed their help they were no help. They don't keep "point in time" backups so they couldn't go back to a previous version. We are devastated. I trusted the wrong person to backup this data and they let me down. 🙁

?????
Carbonite does not have the files? If this is the case, that is a pretty useless paid service.
It is supposed to be there in exactly this situation.

Yes, thank you. Carbonite sucks! We've been on the phone with them for hours and have gone round and round with them. They had the data on our C drive backed up (which we didn't lose) but this was an external drive and they thought we deleted it so they deleted the data also. They have horrible customer service and we will obviously never be using them again.
