Hello,
Attempting a transfer from Seagate SSHD to SSD, then a Seagate SSHD to external with the same results. I am pretty sure this SSHD is dead and needs to be replaced, but I wanted to ask before I got my case pushed with Seagate for a replacement. I did diagnostic test from Seagate, no errors.

Hey there, Icarii.

Have you performed all the available tests with the manufacturer's diagnostic tool? I'm talking about all the long/extended (or whatever they might be called) tests as well? If you've done just the short/generic tests, they might not show the full picture here.
Another thing you could do is to try that SSHD with a different SATA port and different SATA cables (power and data), or even better - with a different computer, to see if the same thing happens.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.
