any how i tried to connect it on PC it detect the HDD through SATA cable but the media is not spin up.

Is there any way to able to work this hdd on PC ?

thanks in adv

It should work fine in your PC as a HDD is just a HDD, what makes it a 'pipeline' series drive are certain optimizations or mtbf ratings.

Are you certain it is not spinning up? Most drives go through a POST process and will not give any information to the motherboard until it has verrified that it is in at least basic working order.

Typically here is what you want to do:
Turn the computer off, and install the drive. Screw it in place, and then attach the SATA power and data cables.
Turn the computer on and go into BIOS/UEFI (typically F1, F2 or Delete on boot) and verify that the drive is there and recognized.
Reset and go into Windows. A new drive will need to be initialized before it can be used so go into Disk Management (win8.1, rt click on start and select Disk Management). When you open Disk Management it should recognize that there is a new drive installed that needs to be initialized. Follow the wizard and do what it tells you to. If this is going to be a boot drive (where an OS is installed) then make sure to initialize it as MBR, otherwise MBR or GPT is fine for other uses.

Hope that helps!

@ CaedenV thanks for your answer, i tried that its detected in BIOS &showing its model & capacity but its not spinning up at all.
@ fzabkar thanks i will check & let you know : but one question should i use this tool for one time ? i think there will be any firmware needs to be updated to use as normal drives ?

I tried but no luck... i follow below steps..

1. burn a hdat2 boot-able disk.
2. connect my DVR drive through external USB ( if i connect it directly through SATA cable my PC stuck & its trying to deduct the hard disk)
3. run hdat2 /w then the software open & it shows my pipeline hard disk but i didn't find any puis thing in all options.
4. when i try to format or write MBR it said hdd is not initialized.

AFAIK, HDAT2 doesn't work via USB. It works best if you configure the SATA controller for IDE or legacy or compatibility mode in BIOS.

That said, it could be that your drive has special OEM firmware for DRM reasons. There are threads at HDD Guru and HDD Oracle that discuss the security features of DVR drives.
