I have purchased and installed the above mentioned hdd Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM0003 64bit.
Unfortunately it does not show up in my list of HDD in windows.

It is there when i search for it in control panel-->disc management.
Also i can see it in bios without problems.I installed seagete discwizard and used to see the drive.
But still i can not see it in <my computer >, so i cant use it

My system specs are the following
Win 7 32 bit ,mobo msi 7596,,amd athlon II X3 450,4GB RAM,ATI Radeon 4850
I also have a seagate st 3320613 (320GB) and a WD 500 GB HDD
It is a dual boot computer with win xp and win 7 32 bit

Any help would be greatly apreciated
Thank you

Hey there akadimos. If you can see it in in Disk Management, you might just need to assign the drive a new letter. Here's how to do it: How to change the drive letter assignment in Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP or 2000

Also take a look if there's a small red arrow in Disk Management on the drive, if this is the case, you have to initialize it and then partition and format it.
Here's how to initialize it: How to initialize a hard drive or Solid State drive in Windows
And how to partition and format it: How to partition and format a hard drive on Windows (8, 7, Vista, XP) and Mac OSX
Just click on the corresponding OS and follow the instructions for each guide.

Hope that helps.

You are a life saver!!
You also saved from 25 euro that i would have to give to tehnician to get it done
I just had to initialize the disc and assign a letter to it
Thank you again for your quick and accurate answer

I'm glad I was able to help. When you get a new internal HDD this is a standard procedure so everything should be fine. If you get an external HDD it should be already initialized and formatted.
If you have any other technical issues, don't hesitate to ask here before you go to a technician. The community is great and it's very likely that you'll get the help you need. :)
