Seagate's 12TB IronWolf hard drive is on sale for an exceptional $199 — a mere $16 per terabyte of storage

THIS IS NOT A DEAL, NOR A SALE! This has been $200 on Amazon for at LEAST the past 18 months. How do I know? I bought one for $200, on sale, at Microcenter in July of 2023, and have been waiting to buy a second one on sale online, ever since. I have seen this be "on sale for $200" multiple times, but it's also the price on Amazon. FAKE SALE!

Original price $350? LIES! I have NEVER seen this higher than $220 on Amazon. I made an account here TODAY, because I am SICK of seeing this FAKE SALE advertised. I am pretty sure this is not the first time I've seen Tom's Hardware promoting this fake sale price, like it's so awesome. It's not. It's the TYPICAL PRICE.

The list price is $240, Newegg doing its false advertising as usual with the "original price", same thing that Amazon was sued over. Seems like Amazon dips it regularly to $200, raising it generally often enough to be able to claim "Lowest price in 30 days".

Exactly. Places like Tom's Hardware are either paid to write these "articles", or they don't pay attention when they already made an article about the same fake sale price of the same thing. Imma 'bout to blacklist Tom's Hardware from showing up in my feeds. I just got so upset this time I made an account just to call them out on it, and it might be the only engagement they get from me, if I can't trust them when they claim something is on sale (or review something).
