Want to hear about a crappy product from a company that went bankrupt? Yes! The wonderful SparQ tape drive is absolutely terrible. After working slowly for about a months it became absolutely impossible to use. It was impossible to read from it and to write to it.

I'm not the only one who had trouble with this drive, I know 3 other people who have exactly the same problem.

So, if you ever see a SparQ drive for sale, do NOT buy it.

Actually, the sparQ was a pretty good product, except for the parallel port version. I have to agree with you about not buying the leftover product on the internet. No warranty and support should scare off most people. But if you find one locally, the disks are clean, and it's really cheap...

Ah, who am I kidding? Spend the same amount and get a 10GB 7200rpm drive and a portable usb enclosure. Either that or invest in a cdrw drive. Can't beat the cheapness of a cd.

syquestsupport.com is a place to check for the latest on syquest products. A former employee "JC" provides the tech answers for your problems. JC reveals the ORB design is similiar to syquest and the problem with these drives is the darn plastic clips on the inside. Also check at syquestrepair.com for repair prices and policies for syquest products. Also your syquest disc (if it is bad) could cause your drive to fail!
