Search Failing OC

I am in OC, Chapter 3, with my Ranger 6, Wizard 2, Arcane Archer 5, and am
having real problems spotting traps. I believe that this started when I
added my last AA level. This has not happened to me before while using
various Ranger combinations. I don't think I have ever had to add points to
the Search skill to spot traps. This time I have been adding points to Spot,
Unlock, and Disarm. My abilities are, ST. 14, Dex. 17, Con. 13, Intel. 11,
Wis. 14, Ch. 10. I think my system has been running a little strangely since
I played the Premium Modules. Sometimes items from the mods show up in the
OC.

Does this sound like a system problem or a build problem? Is my intelligence
too low? Have I forgotten something?

Thanks,

Mox

Detecting traps requires the Search skill. Spot is for seeing creatures
using the Hide skill and is almost worthless in any of the official
campaigns as the monster AI doesn't use the Hide skill at all. As you
play through the game, the traps become successively more difficult to
detect. You've finally reached a point where your Search skill is just
not high enough to find them--at least, as long as you aren't in Detect
mode. You can try using Detect mode more often, hiring a henchman with a
high Search skill (such as Tomi) and/or adding more points to your own
Search skill.

Thanks Barry,

Since my original post I made another level and buffed up my Search skill.
Things are a bit better.

You could also summon the Pixie Familiar, she is good at traps/locks.
