Review Seasonic Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition power supply review

Im sure it's an absolute beast. I don't understand the adamant and seemingly forceful mention of the great addition of the noctua fan repeatedly, which is also mentioned to hardly be spinning.

It does come off as hardcore shilling, who here believes the fan makes any sort of material difference compared to other high quality fans? I like noctua, but to act like they are a tier above other performance fans?.. you are stuck 10 years ago. It's very expensive compared to functionally identical fans from other brands. Besides the point this power supply will practically never need a fan blowing on it.

While I've had very few PSU fans fail over the years Noctua's quality and longevity are a real. selling point here. Using one of their static pressure focused fan designs should also mean it doesn't have to run as high RPM when cooling is necessary.

This is definitely one of those overkill PSUs, but if you have a use case should be great. I too would like to see this type of build in a lower capacity unit. If nothing else at least a 1200W unit as that's the ATX min spec for having a 600W 12VHPWR/2x6 connector.

Even with water cooling?

I have no direct experience with water cooling, so I don't know how loud the pumps and fans for something like a 480 mm radiator might be, compared to a PSU.
Both can easily be run practically silent.

And sure noctua is great, but what are you really on about? Noctua is only lonely in terms of price, fan efficiency both in terms of noise and power, they are nothing special anymore. It's great fans don't get me wrong, but claiming this makes any sort of material difference in the real world compared to other high end fans is just pure ignorance....

Their emphasis the last 5 years has been on brand milking, not doing any major innovation and rising prices. The fact you are still talking as if they are special proves the scam is doing great still.

They used to be a tinkeres brand. Now its high fashion.... Not the same category.

Yeah, some other fans have come a long ways, even surpassing Noctua, in a few cases.

I recently had occasion to use their low-profile fans (92 mm x 14 mm thick) and discovered they did not live up to Noctua's reputation. Above 50% RPM, they were definitely not quiet. I bought both the brown/beige and the Black version, just to be sure the first one wasn't a dud. Some other customer reviews agreed with my experience.

There's some truth to this, but they have still continued developing their fans & heatsinks, even while pursuing other markets.

I'm using the Corsair AX1600i on my current. If was thinking about building one now (not) I would consider/compare with this one only because it's ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant.

Given that the vast majority of PSUs do not use a high end fan it's a notable difference which clearly went right over your head. Also the NF-A25 costs about the same as every other LCP fan so there's that.
