Hey guys so I was planning on building a computer with the GPU being an r9-280x and the power supply being a Seasonic SSR-550RM. The AMD websites all say that the r9-280x should have a 750w power supply but I've seen other places saying all you need is a 500-600w power supply. Has anyone been able to successfully have a 280x with a 550w power supply? Btw, the processor is going to be an i5- 3330 in case anyone was wondering.

Really, I think RealHardTech aims for maximum headroom. With the R9 280X you should already be fine with a quality 520w PSU let alone 550w.

It will easily work and I think you can even overclock a bit aswell unlike laviniuc says you shouldn't. Do not overclock the R9 280X though as instability in games seems to increase because of it. Since you also can't overclock your CPU there is nothing to worry about.
