My xp2 is displayed ok. Win XP Updates set on Auto.
But getting brief security balloons after startup.
I have been using Spybot and Ad aware for deleting cookie monsters.
Any ideas?

Balloon Msg indicates Norton antivirus security problem needs to be enabled
click on balloon to resolve issue. Norton 2005 live updates, scans seems to
be working ok.

It may just be a timing issue. If your NAV is working, LiveUpdate is
working, and NAV's automatic protection is working, I wouldn't worry
about it. The Security Center alerts are just alerts and they aren't
always accurate. For instance, on my Windows machines it takes a few
seconds after startup for my antivirus to check for updates. In those
few seconds, I'll get a Security Center alert telling me that the av
definitions aren't current. Since I know my av is fine, I usually go to
the Security Center applet in Control Panel and click on "Change how
Security Center alerts me" and uncheck the av alerts.

You can do this too, but I just want you to make sure that your NAV is
really operating the way it should be before you turn off the alerts.

Thanks for info. But later if I keep getting ballons to enable Norton 2005 I
wonder if I could have stripped some keys using spybot or adaware which ive
scanned and quarrintined files. Just Curious are there high-low reg keys that
I could have been taken out durring my cookie fest? Im not sure how to find
and restore if I did froze a securite cookie. Maybe im having just a cookie
dream.

Cookies have nothing to do with your antivirus's operation. Of course,
there is no way for me to know what you did. If NAV is really not
enabled, then you need to address that issue.
