I need a cooler to replace the stock Intel cooler on my E8400 on a GA-EP45-UD3P mobo. I plan on doing overclocking.

I was wondering what is the second best cooler out there? The reason I ask for the second best cooler is because that is usually the best performance versus value choice in most cases from my experience. I don't need the best when second best will do.....

Would you really notice a real world difference between 3 heat pipes and 4 in temp differences? I mean are we talking like 1degree C?

I found this review very informative. The Xigmatech 1283 got some pretty good reviews.

and its only like $26 at Newegg after rebate right now as mentioned earlier. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

What is interesting is the the s1283 was actually ranked higher than the more expensive s1284 at Frostytech.

Hmmm ... Interesting ... I did not know that. I was recommended the 1284 over the 1283 when I bought it.

Anyway ... according to the reviews 4 heat pipes has poorer performance than 3 heat pipes ? This is kinda strange.... Furthermore, it is from the same company.

Well I guess I will go for the s1283 if I were getting from Newegg. :wahoo:

I think a person would not be disappointed with either cooler.....they are both good products....:)
