Together with a new computer (Asus motherboard) I received some games.
After much hesitation (never play games) I installed Morrowind and got
totally hooked by this 'game'.
Thanks to this group and a few excellent sites about Morrowind I
managed, it took several months <g>, to defeat Dagoth Ur today..
My question: I've 2 CD's of Morrowind, English version, Asus V239-1 en
Asus V239-2. Untill now I only needed the first CD. The second CD is not
accepted, what's the use of it?

The second CD just has textures, meshes, etc. needed by modders who want to
add to or modify the models, etc. in the game.

Not needed for playing or most modding; the same files are packed in the
..bsa (Bethesda Software Archive) files in the Morrowind\Data Files\
directory on your hard drive, which is where the game gets them.

The second disc also contains the manual in about 10 different languages
on the OEM version.

Thanks, to both of you, for the answers. Too busy with the game itself,
normally I open the contents of such a CD..
I spent much time finding the English PDF manual on internet and now I
see this manual on the second CD in my native language (Dutch) <g>.

Morrowind has some features that are fairly rare (it is open-ended,
has the by-use skill system, and so on), so you are probably quite
spoiled now for other role-playing games. 😉
