second display not working

Recently got a new monitor and im trying to hook it up to my asus z97-a motherboard dvi port. I currently have a asus monitor plugged into my evga 750ti gpu. When i boot up nothing displays on the second monitor as well as when i go into settings my computer does not detect a second monitor. i have a Intel i7 4790k cpu which has integrated graphics as well. I tried to use my asus monitor with the hdmi port on my gpu and the dvi wire on the dell monitor into the dvi slot on my gpu as well, but when i did that my main monitor (the asus one) didnt display anything but the dell one did for a short moment but then i couldnt get to login menu (all it showed was windows booting and thats it). Is there anyway to make both monitors work?

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled your GPU drivers with version 359.06 using this method?

Have you also updated your BIOS and installed the necessary drivers from Asus's support page?
