Second gen Ryzen on this board?

Hello everybody. I am finally making my gaming PC, but I have an question.

Specs wise, it is not important.

But here are the parts that I need help with :

The Motherboard : MSI B350M BAZOOKA .

The CPU : Ryzen 5 2600X .


I dont have any AM4 Athlon or an First Gen Ryzen laying around.

Will the motherboard at least post into the BIOS so I can update it ?

No, if it's not updated to support the later chips out of the box, it will not reach the BIOS to allow you to update.

AMD will ship you a chip if necessary:

But, for all the hassle/time that takes - you may aswell pick up a X470 board OR the upcoming B450....

Here in Romania, the X470 boards are 3 times more expensive than B350. 🙁

Hmmm... But the seller can update the BIOS for like 5$ more... should I go with it ?
