Hey guys!
So, you might think this question has been answered a dozen times. It hasn't. I have a bit of a unique case. I had a GTX 680 laying around that had been superseded by the 780Ti I have been using a while now. I do a lot of folding at home for Overclock.net, and so I figured I would throw it back in my rig for this purpose. Problem is, it doesn't show up.
I am 99% sure the card works. Least unless I shorted it installing it or somehow broke it putting the stock cooler on after removing the water block. Seems unlikely.
The fan spins, but it doesn't do anything else. Won't show in device manager or anything. Noooo clue what is up.
Normally, I would just switch PCI slots. Problem is, the 780TI is also water cooled, and can't be removed easily enough for me to justify it. I could try pulling it from the slot, but leaving it dangling perhaps ? Not sure if that is safe.
Or I could dig out an old AM3+ board and my Sempron 145, or perhaps my old Socket 775 setup if you guys think I could find a way to see if the GPU works with that.
