I recently picked up a second 780ti because Ive been playing games at 3440x144 resolution. When I first got the new momnitor my 780ti started running at 82c no matter what kind of load it was under, when I went to test the second one on its own, it was running at full power at only 71c. I checked all the settings, they are both clocked the same and have the same profiles. Should I be worried about the first gpu? it sounds like its runing really hot for no reason since the second one runs nice and cool by itself.

Might be cause for concern...
82c and not under load, could just be a bad temp sensor (it happens sometimes)

I would at least check to make sure when they are under load the video card fan is running.
Also, you can try using compressed air to blow out the heatsync on the GPU in case it's clogged.

In an SLI install, the upper card is using exhaust heat from the 1st card as intake cooling air. Are these in slots 2,3,4 & 5 with no space between or 2,3 and 5,6 with 1 slot of empty space in between ?

The latter is a bit more effective if you take a fan and mount on the back of a HD cage or case window to blow some fresh air between the cards.
