I'm planning to build my new rig tomorrow, but I'm starting to second guess my PSU choice. So I figured I'd bring it up here, just to get more ease at mind.

Build:

3070 Gigabyte Gaming OC

Samsung 970 EVO 1TB NVME M.2

Kingston A2000 1TB NVME M.2

Kingston KC600 512GB SSD

Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz 16gbx2 CL18

B550 Gaming Edge WIFI

140MM Noctua fans x2

120MM Be Quiet Fan

Noctua NH-D15S CPU cooler

Ryzen R5 3600 (Temporary CPU until I get my 5900X eventually)
And I plan to add a 3TB HDD at some point

The PSU I have picked is the Corsair RM750X V2 750W 80 PLUS Gold. But I'm a little concerned if this particular choice will hold up when I switch the 3600 out for the 5900x. So I'm wondering if a 850W would have been a wiser choice. (Same brand and model type, but with 850W instead) However, from what I can recall, Nvidia recommends a 750 PSU for a 3070 + R9 Ryzen system.

The store I bought the PSU from has a very generous return policy, so nothing like that would be an issue if it comes down to me having to return the PSU. Though I'm not an extreme overclocker, in fact I have never overclocked my rig. Despite the fact that it has an I5 4690k in it. And cant really say that I plan to do it either. The computer will be used for gaming as well as video and audio editing/sound design. (1080p videos mostly) If that info is needed. An external soundcard + microphone will also be connected to it from time to time related to my audio editing and sound design interest.

So should I just go ahead with what I have and not worry about it, or would it be wiser to switch before the point of no return?

A 750w is plenty. I’m running a 3080 and 3700x on a 650w with no issues. With the 3070 NVIDIA recommended a 650w and thats when running a 10900k, a cpu capable of hitting 250w.

Then it sounds like that 750w wont be a problem for the 5900x either. Considering the case with the I9 as you mention. Thank you so much for the answer, then I know that I can build the rig without any worries.
