I have my OS installed on a ssd and my games n documents folder pointed to my second regular hard drive, if my second hard drive crashes is there a way I can copy all the data installed on the 2nd hard drive to the new hard drive that I would put in, without uninstalling anything?

Solution

Highlight them all, copy, paste. IF the drive is crashing, its going to die and you'll loose stuff regardless of what program you use.

Either buy a backup drive now and backup stuff, or quit being paranoid over the what if.
nah actually what I mean is if I notice that the 2nd hdd its going bad and decide to replace it is there a way I can copy all the data installed on the 2nd hard drive to the new hard drive that I would put in, without uninstalling anything?

Beat me to that exact question getochkn.

The second drive is not like the os drive, if widnows crashes you wont be able to access the ssd drive, but the second hard drive is independent of windows. Thus if the second drive is not readible it is because it is bad, so most likley you would not be able to recover any data

If your second one is acting weird but still accesable and you were to copy everything off it, it should be fine without reinstalling anything.

now if your main drive crashes, you will have to reinstall regardless if they are on the d, as when you install programs, it copies dll's, registry files, etc.
